How Many Accessories Do You Have For Your Portable DVD Player?

Monday June 7, 2010

More and more people are realising there are some significant advantages to owning a portable DVD player. Most of us have a proper DVD player at home of course, but there is a certain freedom about having one that you can take out and about with you as well. If you can do this you can really enjoy watching your favourite films and programmes a lot more often. It can be good for your kids as well.

And as you might expect there are a few accessories you might find useful when you have your own portable DVD player. One of the most important items is a case specially designed to hold it, which we have written about before. But you can also get other items that are well worth having.

For starters you can get a headrest mount for some types of DVD player that simply slips over the headrest of the car seat. This enables the people in the rear of the car to watch the DVD player from a mounted position, which really does look good.

You can also get a range of other items that might prove useful. For instance if you find the noise of the DVD distracting which you are driving, it would be good for those in the back of the car to use headphones when listening to it. But how can you do that when there is only one socket for the headphones to plug into?

The answer is to buy a quick and easy headphone splitter. This plugs into the socket and then splits into two, allowing you to plug in two sets of headphones to enable two people to listen to the programme they are watching. It only costs a few pounds but it is well worth the effort to buy one. They can be extremely good value.

Of course if you want to take a few different DVDs and programmes with you, you don’t want the hassle of taking the cases as well. And yet you will have to make sure they are kept safe. A case designed to hold a set number of discs in protective sleeves is the best bet here. You can make sure they all stay together in the smallest amount of space possible, which is definitely a good idea if you can manage it.
